Fundraising Opportunities

Individual or group Fundraisers

Throughout the year, many students seeking to fulfill community service hours, individuals interested in supporting Hope Center’s mission, and businesses assist Hope Center by conducting fundraisers, such as dinners, events, sales, and more. If you or an organization or business are interested in conducting a fundraiser, please contact Hope Center.

ANNUAL SPRING CHALLENGE GOLF TOURNAMENT

Hope Center’s largest fundraiser is the annual Spring Challenge – a golf tournament held on the last Friday in April. Every year, the success of the event can be credited to the many business and individual sponsors who provide financial support for various aspects of the event. This event helps to ensure that resources for those fleeing abuse remain available locally. The golf tournament begins with registration and a buffet lunch, followed by flighted shotgun. Dinner and awards follow the tournament. If you are interested in helping by sending a contribution, volunteering, golfing, and/or providing a sponsorship, call Hope Center at (570) 622-3991.

“Power of Women” Team

Hope Center launched its first annual Power of Women team in March 2014. This group of women were nominated due to their leadership in and commitment to the Schuylkill County community. This team committed to demonstrate the “Power of Women” by raising a minimum of $500 each by the end of June and by spreading awareness about domestic violence to ensure that no woman is left trapped in a dangerous relationship.

In 2014, the women raised enough funds to bring “Remote Control,” an interactive play about dating violence, to five area high schools plus Penn State Schuylkill campus in September 2014. “Remote Control,” produced by Deana’s Educational Theater (DET), explores the relationship between two characters, who are dating, and their friend, who becomes an involved bystander when abusive behaviors emerge. Using an imagined “remote control” device, the narrator stops, rewinds, and replays various scenarios while the actors incorporate the audience’s observations and suggestions into the action of the play.

If you are interested in becoming involved on a future Power of Women team, contact Hope Center.
