HOW DO NON-MONETARY DONATIONS WORK, AND HOW ARE THEY USED?

Hope Center’s Shelter Coordinator and Property Manager oversee all non-monetary donations.

Hope Center greatly appreciates donations of items, but due to fire code, limited storage space, concerns regarding the spread of bedbugs, and the exorbitant amount of donations received, furniture and computers will be accepted at the discretion of the Property Manager. If you are interested in donating large items please call (570) 622-3991 and ask to speak with the Property Manager, if he is not available at that time, please opt to leave him a voicemail with your information and he will get back to you as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, Hope Center does not accept used large appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, washers, and televisions. However, Hope Center will take the name and phone number of those interested in donating such items and post their availability for interested service recipients.

Approved items will either be used immediately by or stored for use by residents and/or those receiving Hope Center services.

Donations are available to shelter residents Monday-Friday 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM, to Hope Center Housing residents on Friday after 7:00 PM, to service recipients by appointment, or otherwise directed by the shelter worker on duty. *Please note any new residents coming into shelter before or after scheduled times will have access to donations as soon as they need.

When the storage area for donations is filled, Hope Center is unable to accept additional items.

Drives of NEW items collected by others on behalf of Hope Center will be accepted.
